Why you get angry in Bangalore
Dec 3: Solidarity gathering
Gathering my ass! There were 50 people at the most. Some lighting candles, some standing around, some discussing. 50 is a number that pisses you off when the gathering is at Mahatma Gandhi Circle - intersection of Queens Road, MG Road and Kasturba Road. There're literally thousands of people moving past every hour. And not one motorist stopped to even take a look.
What do you do in a nation where it's own people do not care? I just don't know. People emigrating to other countries always seemed justified to me. Now the logic is cemented.
But I will not give up. There will be another gathering on Sunday, at 5pm. And I will be there, because I am not some sheep following the rest, because my commitment is bullet-proof; and although hopes are meant to be dashed, faith tends to be rewarding.
